The final catalog from Aurora was the
largest ever. However of it's whopping 48 page content only the last 16 pages were
original Aurora products. The first 31 pages are kits from European kit makers
Heller and Esci. Aurora was on it's last leg and opted to be a distributer for the
foreign maker's kits in the USA in order to stay afloat. Sadly it was a bad move on
Aurora's part and along with other poor executive decisions led to the Famous Hobby Kit
makers demise. Aurora Models were no more but in the late 70's Monogram Models
aquired most of the remaining molds from the lifeless corp. Many kits have been
retooled and reissued under the Monogram name and the now Revell / Monogram. And
companies such as Polar Lights & Cinemodels have brought back many of the 1960's
favorites. Especially the original monster kits and several TV Show Theme models.
